Towcester promoter Kevin Boothby is upbeat that £5 subscriptions will soon pass the 500 mark for Saturday night’s TRC Health + Hygiene Blue Riband.

He said: “I have no idea what numbers we will get to. I had my heart set on 500 and I’m very hopeful that we will achieve that. I thought it was an idea worth trying. We are certainly expecting a last minute rush. The only point I would make is that the fiver is for the whole meeting, not a stream per race as some people have been suggesting.”

The programme will be screened to a similar standard as previous Towcester TV events to include interviews with connections of the runners. SUBSCRIBE

In other news from the stadium, Boothby has revealed that moving the Derby final forward by a week to avoid the British Formula One Grand Prix at Silverstone is already paying dividends.

He said: “I’ve been in discussions this week and Silverstone are keen to make Towcester and official camping site for that weekend.”
