Plenty more trials today with less than a week until the resumption of racing.

One of the most popular bitches on the open race scene, Dilly Dilly, was the star of the Newcastle trial session with a 28.72 run for the 480 metres. Jumeirah Sprite clocked the fastest 480 of the day at the previous session; Debbie Calvert’s runner who had one A1 race on his card, recorded 28.75.

Locally trained Abbys Attitude set the standard at the Sunderland session with a 27.48 (-10) trial for Yvonne Bell, despite an appearance from Julie Bateson’s open racer Beaming Mix Up 27.58 (-10).

Only one runner broke 29.20 at Perry Barr‘s session and that honour went to Crackling Blitz with a 29.03 run on going rated as .20 slow. John Lambe’s runner has 28.44 winning form over the 480 course last year.

Central Park was running .40 slow for the 480 metre course and the fastest runner on Tuesday’s trial session was Paul Philpott’s Vigoros Joy with a 29.52 run. Droopys Denny produced the fastest sprint of the session, 16.66.

Quickest over Harlow‘s 415 metres new arrival Guncase with a 26.56 (-40) run over 415 metres. Springwell Sip was the only hound to break 15.00 for the sprint (14.97) in the first session. In the later session, Moors Bronco headed the time trials with a 26.33 (-15).

Wigwam Whisper, who clocked 28.02 in his last graded race at Kinsley produced the fastest four bend time of the day, 28.23 (-30). Sherry Baby clocked the day’s fastest sprint 16.35 (-10), though Jim Hayton’s minor open race has clearly had a very comfortable lay-off, as he hit the scales 1.4 kilos up on his previous racing weight.

At Sheffield, the exciting August pup Geelo Milan was the day’s fastest sprinter with a 16.24 run, while Chris Akers Ballymac Hazel (29.34) was quickest over the standard.

There were 21 weight variation trials on the Crayford trial sheet, as we also saw the first six bend outings following the break. Quickest over the standard distance was Fredie The Man with a 23.59 run.

Alma Keppie’s Chipping Away went quickest at Hove Tuesday session with a 29.52 (-20) run. Gemma Davidson’s Droopys Bubbly was the fastest sprinter (16.51).

Stewart Pedder’s Dandy Lad clocked the fastest time over the Henlow standard with a 27.91 run.

Swift Bevel is a B2 regular at Doncaster but clocked the day’s fastest sprint with a 17.48 (-25) run over sprint, though the run of the day was Galise Tracy’s 28.57 (-50) for the 450 metres.

Open racer Not So Lento was the best of the four bend trialists at Romford with a 24.08, Lambstown Breeze was best over 575 (35.73).
