It’s Tuesday – the day when we – more often than not – sigh before going through the Nottingham results, but then cheer up when checking the Yarmouth tips. This is going to be a sub-standard Tuesday.
We should start – as is tradition – with Nottingham and Sophies Spark who carried three of the Nottingham five selections. He came out of the boxes fifth but then went backwards. Do you want to read on? Well the two other selections both finished second including Leos Adora who might have done better had she not had her card marked.
So Yarmouth! Yay? Hmm. . .
Things started promisingly enough when Lee Calcutt‘s £40 punt Millroad Glory won at 7-2 to give him a profit of £80 on the night. Not a sniff for Brett Hughes or Liam Aspin, though to be fair’s Brett’s selection Hourglass Curtis was tailed off with an obvious problem.
NEWCASTLE
We don’t do many four-way challenges but when local trainer Steve Anderson agreed to take on the existing trio of Mark Cranston and the Jimmy double act, the opportunity was too good to miss. (No pressure anyone – well its mainly on you Mark!)

Slaneyside Nevin (R2 T1) Ex Belle Vue Top grade, has had no luck in races so far, slow away dog in Trap 2 can give him plenty room to run down to bend can open his account here £50 win
Swift Zulu (R6 T6) Will be big price here but like make up of race Trap 5 shows great early place which should give Zulu plenty room at first bend he stays well in grade & slow starters in rest of field so Zulu could go straight second every chance then £50 win
SHEFFIELD
Carl Perry writes: “Well firstly thank you to Nick and Connor for your time and effort in recent weeks. They will be back in the future but we welcome two new faces tonight who will be joining me for the next few weeks . Firstly welcome Darren Driver (owner with Lisa Stephenson and frequent race commentator); a keen follower of the local action whenever he’s free. Our second new face is Glyn Dobbs a multiple owner with Sean Davey kennel and Sheffield regular there most meetings when able to attended

A card full off new faces makes the selection a little bit more cautious with plenty ‘ifs and buts’ to go on . Three runners for the kennels and I can’t see us having a winner . So my selections are
Sharpys Rocket (R1 T6) I was against him last week in the S2 race but this race is plotted up far him. I expect our bitch Mini Bee (T4) will blaze a trail head to lead along with Trade Woz (T3). Then at some point between bends 3/4 the red will join in and slow up the race leaving it all open for Sharpys Rocket to come over the top for the win £50 win
In the sixth race I will take a chance on Master Roo (R6 T4). The winner of five from eight career starts, he makes his debut at Sheffield tonight. His last A2 races suggest he may just have too much pace for these. Coney La Fingers (T6) a pup who caught the eye coney la fingers would rate the danger she did lots off running coming home . But I’ll take roo to make a winning debut £20 win.
Race 9, the best race of the night, is a cracking D1. It looks a pure match races to me between white and stripes. Roxholme Blueboy (T6) has posted some flying trials and looks set to make a very nice dog for the Keightley kennel. But I’m going to take him on tonight on the basis of experience. Referendum (R9 T3) is a winner of seven from twelve at Sheffield and is very consistent from the boxes. I prefer him in trap 3 and will take him to beat Blueboy this week. But Blueboy will definitely be a dog to follow in coming months £30 win

Plenty of new faces amongst the training ranks and one in particular needs no introduction whatsoever. Hayley Keightley has been winning big prizes for many years with her famous “Roxholme” greyhounds and I’m hoping tonight is another good night for the team.
In the D1 sprint, the selection is Roxholme Blueboy (R9 T6). A greyhound making his debut tonight, he’s been very impressive on the clock in his trails, (15.88 and 15.96) and with the benefit of that trial experience under his belt, I’m hoping this youngster can make a winning start to his career for Hayley and the Glory Boys. £70 win.
Staying with the sprinters and Hayley Keightley, my selection in the D2 is Mr Roo (R3 T1). A greyhound who has had 8 runs, and in truth, hasn’t had too much luck in running so far. My eye is drawn to his recent 16.34 trial when he was behind the afore mentioned Roxholme Blueboy. This white and fawn dog I’m hoping can ping the lids on the inside and quickly put the race to bed. £30 win
