So we reach the end of the month and the Nottingham trio ended in style. Mark Pierrepont with +£12.50, debutant Bill Frederick on +£125 and finally Terry Urquhart +£187.50
End of the event total: The Big Lad Mark Pierrepont +£125, Terry Urquhart +£42.50, with the third most used alternative tipster, Alan Bellis -£125.
The Yarmouth trio still have one meeting to go, tomorrow. As for Monday, wins for Sensible Dave +£37.50, BB Hughes +£40 but another stinker for The Cash Machine -£100.
We’ll have a final tally up on Thursday morning but Big Balls Hughes looks uncatchable after a very profitable month.
NEWCASTLE
Oh dear, oh dear – it’s Newcastle time. The punting equivalent of self-harming. The Treasury have announced that their Covid bill is smaller than the losses of this trio. But it’s never too late . . . .Well it is really.

SHEFFIELD
And so onto the glory boys. Despite a Saturday night effort that has been hastily expunged from the memory, Rob and Glynn have been on fire. Carl – not so much. A great night to see off the September Challenge. Huge profits and top spot could go either way. (Though not your way Carl – obvs).

Tuesday night and a great card at Sheffield with the final of the GAIN Greyhound Nutrition 3 Steps To Victory and the Brinkley’s Poet At Stud Young Guns Final.
We also see a decent supporting card with five opens along side the two finals. The 3 Steps will always hold special place in my heart being our first Cat 1 winner and think it’s only fair I make my best selection of the night in the final.
We do have six runners for the kennel tonight and I’d like to think we had few half chances put nothing solid .
I’m going to take a punt on a big outsider in the final Easy On (R11 T4). It’s a great final and an early lead plays a big part in this line up and I’ll take a chance that the selection can slip clear and use her early pace to set up a big lead.
She ran a blinder in the semi final over 500m and was not stopping into the drop. She has bits off six bend form and she will need others to get held up. But with the nature off the 660 start on the bend that’s always possible. We all know that if Kristof breaks well and gets a clear run, he will be a worthy winner.
But it’s not guaranteed from six. Good luck to finalist and connections safe and sound Home . Easy on is available at 20-1 though may start shorter. At that £50 each way will be my selection

So I have made it through the my last Tipster Challenge of the month, and as the young pretender, I am hoping to take the crown!
And we couldn’t have finished with a better night of greyhound racing at Owlerton, with the Gain Nutrition Three Steps to Victory final, taking center stage with a great supporting card, with the Brinkleys Poet at Stud Young Guns final, very kindly sponsored by Nic and Amanda Jeal, some top class open races and some very competitive graders as well.
Normally I would find a solid selection for one of those graded races, but for me they are too close to call with at least two major contenders in each of those races. I think that in the big race it is very difficult to see past the all conquering Roxholme Kristof, who broke Owlerton’s 480 track record in the first round and convincingly won his semi final. With Ted Soppitt’s Blackstone Milo, looking like the ‘Young Gun’ to be with.
Angela Harrison’s Droopys Carat (R12 T5) stands out like a sore thumb! He has had a exceptional late summer at the coast (well Yarmouth), finishing runner up in the RPGTV East Anglian Derby. The last time Droopys Carat had a competitive run at Sheffield was in a puppy race, he finished second, by a neck, to Ice on Fire, and we all know what he went on to do! £100 win
Glynn Dobbs
My final selection of the competition, comes in the Ardralla Jim (R4 T2). Fingers crossed he can lead the inside and kick on to win. Good luck to all runners tonight and and all finalists in the Gain Greyhound Nutrition, 3 Steps To Victory. £100 win
