ARC & Entain can today announce plans for a four year sponsorship of the newly formed ‘Trainers Judgement Night’ with the first event taking place at Nottingham on Monday September 6th.
The now defunct GTA Trainers Championship is very clearly missed and we’re delighted to kick off our new joint venture with the introduction of a competition which reflects and rewards the sport’s top trainers. The concept has been worked upon over the last three months and the hardest part has been identifying and securing a space in the already busy open race programme. We are grateful to both Yarmouth & Towcester for working with us to allow the event to take place around their own competitions in early September with other viable options thin on the ground.
The event will consist of six races – a standard, sprint, puppy, bitches, stayers and maiden race and we’ll be offering out invitations to the qualifying trainers from the 2020 trainers championship table shortly. Points will score based on finishing places (10,7,5,3,2,1) with each trainer having the opportunity to double points in one race by playing the kennels ‘joker card’. The prize money for each race winner will be set at £1000 and the overall winning trainer will receive £5,000.
Venues will be rotated with the 2022 event finding a permanent home in the calendar earlier in the year at Monmore before moving to Perry Barr in 2023 & Hove in 2024. This sponsorship signifies our intent to fully support what is an ever growing open race programme.
