With just over five weeks until the end of the year, the gap between the reigning champion trainer Mark Wallis and his good friend and current leader Patrick Janssens is just 93 points.
While that may sound like an insurmountable margin, remember it is 50 points for a Cat 1 win (2nd-20, 3rd 10, 4th-6th 5), and 20 for a Cat 2 win (5 others). The pair may be great mates, but they would both sell a grandmother to win a game of Monopoly.
Liz McNair has had another phenomenal year with 58 British bred winners. Not forgetting to mention Kevin Ferguson who has done superbly with one British bred litter and makes the top 20 with decent chances on Monday and a terrific strike rate.
