There were some notable trials at Towcester on Tuesday night – including two from current track record holders.
Forest Twilight who is due to defend her Lowther Stakes title in August, but who hasn’t raced since March, clocked 28.69 (-20) for the 480m course when beating kennelmate Roxholme Hottie by half a length. Crossfield Molly recorded 28.86 in a previous trial while Kevin Hutton’s Huarache Finn went fastest of the session, 28.68 (-20).Meanwhile, on the night her brother Droopys Roddick was breaking the Dundalk clock, Droopys Elite began her Lowther preparation with a near five length 15.70 sprint win over kennelmate Droopys Cottage. Dean Childs’ 906m track record holder and 2015 TV Trophy finalist has not raced since May.
