Twelve TRC Events & Leisure sponsored opens at Towcester racecourse this afternoon on what looks a card that punters can really get stuck into.
Although Paul Burr’s Allen Belle lacks a look around this strong running type should prove too good for some moderate rivals.  Burr would be well adept at placing his runners in the correct races whilst on their travels and she should turn handy at worst before proving far too strong in the second half of the race.
Mark Wallis’s Winter Derby Finalist Druids On Song can win at Towcester at the first time of asking.  He trialled well enough here last week but gave the impression there was plenty to come.  He’ll not have to find much at all to win what is a moderate enough affair and from a good make up should soon be in command.
Aayamza Dream can provide the Wallis team with a quickfire double.  A talented sort when things fall right and from a very decent draw against the rail she’ll prove very tough to beat.  Patrick Janssen’s Global Volcano came home strongly last time out in what was her best performance to date on UK soil and she’ll once again be finishing off strongly.  There would be worse bets in the place only market.
A race which should comfortably go the way of John Mullins Chelms Fred.  Returning to the track after a short break last week Fred made light work of decent sprint opposition to win in a very decent 1579.  Much more at home over four bends Fred should soon be in command and won’t be for picking up if leading round the first bend.  Drumcrow Brent looks well drawn on the wide outside to follow the selection home in second.
Frank Gray’s Makeit An Alien can follow up his sprint win in D2 class here from last time out.  He’d taken a tumble in an open down at Harlow in his previous run but showed himself to be absolutely fine when leading all the way over 270m to score in 1612.  He’s plotted up to lead up the middle here and can make every post a winning one at what should be a reasonable enough price given a fair level of opposition.
Sharon Thompson’s Sparta Master will line up as a short priced favourite.  A quality greyhound in his heyday Master has looked a shadow of his former self in recent times and will have to win for the first time since doing so over 660m at Perry Barr last year.  If he doesn’t win this race it’s probably time to hang up his lead for the final time as his rivals too use footballing terminology simply aren’t fit to lace his boots.
Sharon Thompson can land a double with her Master Ten Ten selected.  A greyhound at the opposite end of the career scale to kennelmate Sparta Master he looks a nice type who though falling just short of very top class at this minute in time will still be winning plenty at a decent level.  He’s got to be lively at the start with plenty of pace drawn to his outside but he should lead Lemon Tossy drawn to his inner and that can be key as with a break he can just about squeeze himself around the bend in front and open up as the back straight appears.  One of the tougher races to solve on the day but Ten Ten can once again prove his liking for this venue.
Laurence Tuffin’s Nice Jingle can back up the promise of his second-place finish on comeback to in A3 last time out.  Never the greatest away from the traps that was once again the case and he subsequently encountered trouble at a few crucial points of the race.  To be beaten just a length at the finish was some effort and though the time was moderate enough he isn’t being asked to beat any superstars here.  He should get plenty of room to run on the rail here and all he needs to find is an average break and this race should be his for the taking.
Peter Harnden’s Salacres Lee who rattled off a five timer over course and distance not too long ago can get himself back on the winner’s podium.  Pulled out of his quarter final engagement in the Northamptonshire Sprint here after developing sickness he’s been steadily brought back to the track.  Though likely to come on for the run this is a winnable race and from a plot draw his usual break should suffice.  John Mullins Ballymac Slapup will be ready to take advantage if Lee isn’t his usual sharp self away from traps.
Alien Snogger can land the spoils at what should be a fair price due to the prescene of Droopys Artisan.  The latter is proving very expensive to follow and he will once again be short in the betting here.  Snogger flashed out in A1 company here last time out to win well and a reproduction can see him following up to land the double.
Diane Henry can see her Savana Cody taking full advantage of his draw against the rail.  He was beaten off by Antigua Bigun last week but should strip much fitter for what was just his second run back.  There’s nothing with the early pace of Bigun in this race and it’s not unforseeable to see Cody in command here from the first bend from which point it should be a race against the clock.
Though Laurence Tuffin’s Romeo Trooper is yet to win in 3 UK starts he gave clear indications last time out that his time is near.  He encountered all kinds of trouble from an unsuitable draw in trap 4 and will be much better served by the move to trap 3 today.  There is little in the way of early inside him in the shape of Notorious King and though he could struggle to initially clear Savana Sunlight he should turn comfortably close enough to that rival to take care of her along the back straight before taking command by the third.  Savanaconfidence won well in A2 graded company here last time out and is well drawn to fill the forecast spot.
