We all know the theory of grading. You place six dogs together, all with different running styles and seeding preferences, and the idea is that they cross the line together – writes Floyd Amphlett.

That’s the theory – it seldom happens in practise.

Step forward Monmore racing manager Tony Williamson for this A7 graded race on Saturday night.

The race was won by Lee Field’s 7-1 chance Marlfield Sarah who prevailed from 2-1 fav Kerrylane Dream. They finished T5-T6-T1-T3-T4-T2 with the distances sh, hd, sh, sh, hd – with seven spots covering all six runners.

Tony will be spending the rest of the weekend basking in his own brilliance.
