Here are the ten open races on tonight’s Hove open race card which feature the final of a hugely competitive Coral Winter Derby. Selections and race comments are from owner and form student Paul Gebhard

I shall go with the talented but slightly frustrating Ravens Burger to win, Hot Product is the choice to supply the forecast.

Some untapped potential on show in this race, the win selection is Distant Bolt with go Lovely Rose chosen to be the runner up.

I think there should be more veteran opens, the selection Is In The Loop, the forecast choice being Waste House Echo.

Not much c&d form to go on, perhaps the local knowledge of Seasons Tornado will allow her to cross the line ahead of Ballyhooly Anna

Obviously disappointed to miss out on the big final by a neck but all the same “Dash” ran a great race, in the hope that he breaks that bit better this time I shall go with Drahbeg Dash to win and for Killeacle Gus to finish second.

A race over the 740 at Hove is a stern test, the selection is Tullig Thrill with Roseville Pearl chosen for forecast backers.

A fantastic Winter Derby Final in prospect with every dog having some sort of reasonable chance, however with both heart and head I can’t desert King Sheeran who also has appears to have a great draw going for him, Make No Apologie seems to be very much on an upward curve and I take him to be the runner up. Best of luck to connections of all finalists.

Betting: 1-1 King Sheeran, 9-2 Antigua Romeo, 5-1 Make No Apologie, 8-1 King Lennon, 14-1 Sidaz Jet, 16-1 Volcanic Reef

Semi final review     Run-off

Not a big fan of sprints myself but I do realise that they have a place in racing, General James is the selection ahead of Silva Hill.

On the assumption that everything is spot on with Vicious Circle he is the choice to win, second pick being the young and improving Miss Brentford.

The second of the 740 metre races, Forest Candy has been in with some of the best, this may be every inch as far as she wants to go but she is the selection ahead of the well drawn Spiridon Caerus.

The “Getting Out Stakes” (hopefully not!) there could easily be some argy bargy on the run to the first bend in this. Sober Lily would have been the selection so the tip must be the original forecast option, Stoneyhomeblitz is chosen for the forecast.
