Black Tom ran out the winner of the €7,500 to the winner Thurles Fresh Milk Tipperary Cup over 525 yards at Thurles.
Declan Byrne’s runner flew out of the boxes and made the all-important first bend in front in this all-railer decider. He went on to beat the only unbeaten finalist Curious Boy by four lengths in 28.80sec.
There was a good run in the Marathon Open over 1035 yards when Michael English’s runner Kearneys Lila came home 12 lengths clear of Todays Gold Bars in 60.15sec.
