It would be a bit like introducing your girlfriend to your two mates and it turns out she fancies them more than you.
Resident Sunderland tipster Sam Linley (who has gone a bit off the boil in the last fortnight if we are being honest) decided to introduce old mates George Stark and Graham Strike to the Tipsters Challenge. Now there is ONE unwritten rule in the Challenge: you don’t humiliate the team captain up first time out.
Nobody told George who tipped up three, two went in at 9-4 and 13-8 for a £76.25 profit. (If you see George, you might ask why his third selection wasn’t his own runner Westforth Hugo who won the top heat by five lengths at 3-1!) But compared to George’s minor indiscretion, Graham was clearly just taking the p….. Two selections. £60 on a 13-8 winner, £40 on a 9-4 winner – net £187.50 profit. As for Sam – he finished on -£100 and wished he had nicer mates!
He might tell his sob story to Yarmouth’s Liam Aspin who is consistently picking opposition who show him up. Another blank for Liam on Wednesday (-£100), and another system error for ‘Nigel The Cash Machine’ Tanner (-£100) – but George Turner clearly fancies a shot at the Yarmouth title and bounced back from a rare losing night with an even ton and £100 profit.
NEWCASTLE
Consecutive winning nights for ‘The Jock’ and ‘The Bramble Man’. Wor Jimmy had a stinker last Thursday and was a ‘no-show’ on Tuesday. Only one of the trio is under pressure.

Nice As Ice (R2 T3) Making her debut tonight qualifying trial were very promising hope for winning start £50 win
Black Olive (R7 T2) Was moving well in last weeks trial stakes until she hit bad crowding at third bend. Looks a tasty price at 10/3 £50 win
Jimmy Wright
Black Olive (R7 T2) With a decent break should go round in front. £60 win
Levante Beach (R6 T4) A good start and can hopefully make all £20 win
Coolavanny Bani (R11 T2) Fancy her to get a nice position on rails and finish well in homestraight £20 win
Steve Anderson
Black Olive (R7 T2) Very strong runner and with a little bit of luck will not find any trouble £50 win
PERRY BARR
The story so far. Hannah showed great promise but hasn’t trained on in recent weeks. Robert has had more winning nights than losers but was narrowly pipped by Paul last time out.

Meenagh Dara (R3 T2) was running in A1 before lockdown, if he clears the red then I think that he wins. £30 win
Moyar Valley (R10 T5) young and on the up, drawn outside a usually slow starter, for me the danger is the now correctly drawn Best Dressed (should never be in Trap 5). £30 win
Baggios Magic (R11 T1) yes it was a trial but that 28.65 off a 3.58 sectional is very hard to ignore, hopefully he can pop out and nip round the first bend. £30 win That leaves £10 treble.
Robert Short
Dolla Wisecrack (R12 T5) Goes off in this second A1, a bitch blessed with early pace and really started to find her feet just before lock down. Was taken to Monmore for a maiden 480 and won by 5L in a more than useful 28.43. She is 19 weeks out of season this week and will be looking to get around early to make all. £100 win
Meenagh Dara (R3 T2) He was running in A1/A2 before lockdown, ran well last week only beaten half a length in an A3 and should be fitter for that run. £50 win
Best Dressed (R10 T3) He’s been off the boil a bit since we resumed racing but he’s better drawn tonight in trap 3 with 4,5 and 6 also being wide runners. He’s a dog that needs to lead to win but can take a flyer from the traps from time to time. £50 win
