Joe’s Thursday Tips

***7.33 Hove – Bluejig Baron (11/10 Ladbrokes & Coral)
**8.24 Hove – Starshinestunner (11/4 Ladbrokes & Coral)
*8.44 Swindon – Alright Gordy (11/10 Betfair, Paddy Power & Skybet)

The crossbar was struck yesterday evening with two out of the three selections winning. The third selection finishing second beaten a head, setting us up for an evening of open race tipping. There is a full open race card at Hove with Newcastle and Swindon also hosting their weekly slots.

Tonight’s Best Bet

The Nap of the evening runs in the 7.33 at Hove. The Coral 500 Standard Trophy Heat Two where Bluejig Baron lines up from trap four. It looks a bit of a match up on paper with Uncle Freddie in trap three but I would fancy Bluejig Baron to get first run on that rival. He can then dominate from the second bend with Gingers Shelby on his outside setting the pace. Trap four is the ideal draw for Bluejig Baron so a smart getaway can see him prevail.

Thursday’s Next Best

This runs in the Coral 515 Bitches Trophy Final at 8.24pm, where I am going to give Starshinestunner another chance lining up in trap one. She broke well last week before finding plenty of trouble spots behind Kelvins Hat but the draw has worked out perfectly in her favour this evening.

She is on the inside of five railers so that will give Fleadh Cailin a nice run from trap six but I am hoping Starshinestunner is in front of that rival coming out the second bend. If from there she can avoid the same amount trouble she found last week. She is a big player and big enough to price to want to be on.

Other selections

We head to Swindon for the third bet of the evening where Alright Gordy runs from trap five in the Blunsdon Stayers over 682m at 8.44pm. A Versatile greyhound seen at various tracks and distances this race looks the ideal way to return to winning ways following four consecutive second place finishes at Romford, Hove and Oxford. Baggios Emoski in trap one should take the field along so as long as Alright Gordy clears the strong running Keepers Poppy on his inside he can have too much for Baggios Emoski late on.

Other selections across the cards include Ower Smasher. He who can get the better of Tuono Bella in the 8.07pm Coral 740 Super Stayers Trophy Final at Hove. It’s Highview Paudie I fancy in the 8.19pm Arena Racing Company Maiden Standard at Newcastle.
