REES CONFIDENT OF BIG RUN FROM IMPROVING NINE PERCENT

Charlie Rees assistant trainer to father Richard is anticipating a big run from their fast improving youngster Nine Percent (owned by Legacy Racing Syndicate) in tonight’s £500 to the winner final at Hove (807pm).

Charlie Rees

Charlie told the Greyhound Star “We’ve always held this youngster in high regard and though running at a decent level he’s really taken off in recent weeks.  On paper at least for tonight he looks to have a fair make up with Sharp Butch likely to head inside from trap 3 and Clonmoyle Rockie to his outside may just prove an early hindrance to Newinn Benni.  That’s the way I see it anyway so with a bit of luck I’d be hopeful of a big run from our lad”.

There is a decent supporting card for punters to get stuck into with heats of a 695m maiden competition and a 515m affair both getting underway with 3 first round heats each.  Liz McNair’s Queen Leona (owned by K.S.S Syndicate) steps up to six bends for the first time in heat 2 (733pm) of the 695m maiden comp and if she can perform to anything even remotely close to the level that her litter mate Queen Georgia did when flying around Towcester’s 712m trip on Sunday she’s sure to take some amount of beating in this.

June Harvey’s Ower Mystery (owned by Mr A G Harvey) looks plotted up to take heat 1 (824pm) of the 515m competition.  Running from trap 1 the May 2021 son of Droopys Sydney had been off the card since mid February prior to his comeback at the end of May and with that sprint plus a further two four bend runs under his belt he should now be approaching peak fitness.  Full form for tonight’s Hove card can be found by clicking here.
