There is no disputing the highlight of HOVE’s Thursday night card, the 695m clash between multiple ‘Cat 1’ winner Rubys Rascal (T1) and the blue jacketed local champion Karlow Turbo (Kinloch Brae-China Doll, Aug 14) . . .
The winner recorded an impressive 41.41 (-15), just five spots outside Jaytee Patriot’s quickest of the year (normal going).
It was a good night for trainer Seamus Cahill who also landed the £500 decider, and the night’s most exciting race, over the 475m course. Cahill’s Cork Falcon (Razldazl George-Apple Pedro, May 14) went from orange (7-2). Look out for Dusko Popov (T1 2-1f) and Droopys Jester (T6 7-2).

Farloe Thor (Droopys Scolari-Schamazing, Jul 15) produced the performance of the night at BELLE VUE. The Julie Bateson trained black pup who was touted as a serious fancy for both the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby and Betfred Gymcrack but had won just one of his six races, showed what all the fuss was about.
Drawn red, he was never headed and crossed the winnig line in an impressive 27.56, just two spots slower than the fastest time of the year.
