Youngster Kilmore Lemon produced the performance of the night at Romford on Wednesday.
Contesting the heats of the Champions Night Puppies – final next Wednesday – Patrick Janssens’ 18 month old clocked 23.76 (+30) for the 400m and was rewarded with a trap two draw as one of three middle seeds in the final.
There were just 10 spots between the three heat winners of the Maiden Stayers competition with Allowdale Hannah drawn on the outside of her two closest rivals in the final.
There was less success for June Harvey in the marathon qualifier where 1-3f Clares Kyletaun had the race at his mercy before cramping and finishing third. Crayfod’s Rylane Dash landed the fastest qualifier.
