Dean Childs might have left HOVE for Crayford, but he still finds his old track an additional source of income as three wins from five runners and £850 in prize money proved another lucrative Thursday evening.

The pick of the trio was arguably 4-7f Droopys Costa (Aero Majestic-Droopys Orleans, Jul 14) with the fastest 515 of the night in a bitch’s open – 29.79 (N).

She was backed up by puppy winner Droopys Georgio (Droopys Can-Droopys Loner, Aug 15) who returned at 7-4 when clocking 29.97 (N).

The kennel’s first winner was Droopys Jester (Aero Majestic-Droopys Hilda, Sep 14) in the heats of a 475m competition.

Quickest of the three qualifiers though with the performance of the night was Seamus Cahill’s Cork Falcon (Razldazl George-Apple Pedro, May 14) with a 27.47 run, just five spots outside Forest Con’s track record. The other qualifier went to Droopys Griezman in 27.85 (N).

The most lucrative run of the night was Scolari Sound’s (Droopys Scolari-Turn It Up, Mar 14) £500 payday for landing the £500 sprint open in 16.28 with a short head to spare over kennelmate Brynoffa Jasmin.

One for the notebook – an impressive six bend debut for Paradise Marco (Cashen Legend-Dalcash Paradise, Aug 15).

The Liz McNair trained pup contesting only his fourth race, clocked 41.46 for the 695m – a time only bettered this year by Jaytee Patriot (41.36) and Aayamzabreeze (41.39).

Derby casualties tend to bounce back with minor open race victories and Beaming For You (Tullymurry Act-Beaming Olive, Nov 14) did precisely that with victory at BELLE VUE on Thursday night.

Seven days after finding himself three quarters of a length short of a return to Towcester, John Walton’s black prevailed by a similar margin over 470m in a time of 28.22 (-20).

The kennel picked up a double when Kilara Allstar (Barefoot Bolt-Ullid Elite, Apr 14) landed the sprint in 15.09.

Four of the five opens went to locals with Dainty Hunter (Kinloch Brae-Dainty Lesia, Aug 14) winning the 470m maiden in 28.19 (-20) and Paradise Beauty (Elite State-Paradise Geneva, Apr 15) taking the bitches race in 27.99 for the Thompson and McCombe kennels respectively.

The 590m open went to Shawfield’s top stayer Clodagh Princess (Droopys Cain-Nodstown Flyer, Oct 14) with a 35.96 run.
