There might have been three opens on the Swindon card on Wednesday but it would be local handler Paul Foster who earned the headlines with five winners and a second from seven runners. Richard Baker supported with two wins from three entries.
Dodgers Charlie (9-4), Vicar (7-4jf), open winner Magical Arnie (7-2) and Loughlea Bonnie (9-4f) all won before Tommy’s Approach finished second to Minnies Highway (4-5f) in the 509m open. Swift Alonso (9-4f) completed the 423-1 accumulator before Dodgers Duran ran fourth later on the card.
Two of the three opens fell to Richard Baker trained ‘good thing’. Minnies Highway (Ballymac Eske-Minnies Luselle, Aug 15) made it five wins (and two seconds) in his last seven races with a 30.20 run for the 509m.
Bangor Ella (Droopys Cain-Bangor Alice, Mar 15) completed an open race four-timer and justified her 4-6f SP with a three length victory over kennelmate Sime As That in 41.73 (+15) for the 685m. Baker’s third runner, Vigorous Bocko (5-4f), had run third behind Magical Arnie.
