Working to the adage that it is pointless to re-invent the wheel, Swindon are to style the racing kennels in the new stadium, on those currently in operation at Nottingham.
Stadia UK’s Bill Glass said: “We looked at several and I spoke to a number of trainers for their views.
“Overall, in terms of being well designed and deliverable at a sensible cost, Nottingham came out in front. I then picked the brains of my GBGB colleague Rachel Corden and Track Committee member Dave Baldwin who could not have been more helpful in their advice.”
The whole project is due to take in excess of nine months to complete and Stadia UK MD Clarke Osborne recently published a letter to all Swindon’s different areas of operation including the staff and trainers warning them of a period of potential disruption to access and parking in the forthcoming months, as the work of enabling the site for the construction begins and existing parking and entrances are moved around.
