Brinkleys Poet recorded a superb 16.01 (N) 280m trial at Sheffield on Saturday night. It was his only his second trial back following a career threatening wrist injury.
By means of comparison, recent Romford 400m open race winner Goldies Hoddle clocked 16.14 at the same session. Later in the evening, Lost One Dare won the sprint in the Trainers Championship in 15.89.
Trainer Mark Wallis said: “He came off fine after an excellent trial. We are now looking at giving him a four bend trial.”
