King Memphis and Droopys Clue continued their domination of the Coral sponsored Olympic and George Curtis/Ballyregan Bob Memorial double header at Hove with fastest semi final wins on Saturday night.

The three semi finals of the Coral Olympic played out pretty much as expected with five of the six ‘most likely’ runners (from the betting) from the three semi finals all going through to next Saturday’s decider.

King Memphis was slightly back on last week’s clock having had to negotiate the front runner Newinn Syd but was a thoroughly merited 30.15 winner and goes through to next week’s final with a red jacketed draw.

Champion Stakes winner Hollow Man kept up his impressive winning sequence and was just half a length slower than Memphis when holding off the 9-1 chance Never Say No. Derek Knight’s middle seed had drawn six in the decider.

King Combs continues to look like a future stayer but had ample class to come from last place and win the slowest qualifier in 30.21 from Wasted Monday.

Three lengths cover all six qualifiers

The seemingly invincible Droopys Clue stode majestically and apparently effortlessly through to next week’s Curtis/Ballyregan decider.

Never headed, and off a faster sectional than in the first round, Seamus Cahill’s runner was 14 spots down on last week’s time when seeing off Ower Smasher and Swiper.

The second semi went to the defending champ Clongeel Ozzie who handled the early obstacle of Savana Heross before galloping away for a two length win over Haka Carlo and Savana Jazz.

But the railer has clearly upset the God of Trap Draws who has been less than kind for a second week running. Having landed last year’s final in white, he has been allocated stripes for the 2023 verison

Mullins bitch fancied to Terrarise Puppy Oaks decider?

The bookies have Fabulous Terra as their 6-4f for this afternoon’s Bet365 Puppy Oaks Final.

The David Mullins trained black is unbeaten in her five races to date and clocked 29.37 to land the fastest semi final from Crafty Pardiso (14-1).

Second vavourite is Queen Dusty (5-2) who was beaten by Deelish Nora (9-2) in the next quickest qualifier with the KSS owned bitch having come from a seemingly hopless position.

(In an interview this week, Rab McNair gave his view on Dusty’s chances)

Patrick Janssens’ La Gitana (5-1) was only three spots slower than her kennelmate after showing tremendous early pace when leading home outsider of the final field, Doohoma Roxie (25-1)

The main event is supported by the final of the final of the Winter Marathon:

Betting: 7/4 A Mystical Love, 5/2 Maleficient, 3-1 Keepers Poppy, 4-1 She Loves You, 12-1 Antons Maggie, 20-1 Farneys Cooper
