The RPGTV Henlow Derby closes on Wednesday, starts next Sunday and four trialstakes dominated this weekend’s card.
Quickest of the lot was local champion Savana Donie (Ballymac Vic-Blackwater Bride, Apr 14). Jason Bloomfield’s Ladbrokes Gold Cup runner-up, who boasts a personal best of 27.23 over course and distance, came off the pace to beat Liam Og in 27.37 (N).
Other trialstakes went to: 27.49 Parkers Dynamite (Kinloch Brae-Toms Delight, Apr 15), 27.51-Airport Jumbo (Razldazl George-Spiroaid Cath, Oct 13) and 27.55-Ilewin Brickwall (Sparta Maestro-Erinaceous Rapid).
Over the 550 trip, Master Kelly (Forst Master-Light Foot Molly, Aug 14) continued his excellent Henlow record with a 33.30 victory for Hazel Kemp. It was his fourth win (plus one 2nd) in his last five races over course and distance.
