Danny Riordan took three runners to Central Park on Sunday and returned home with a 19-1 treble.

The pick of the trio was 1-2f Rio San Marino (Droopys Scolari-Droopys Force, Sep 13) in 39.80 for the 642m, his sixth win from seven outings over course and distance.

He was supported by 7-4jf Rio Rialto (Droopys Jet-Racenight Maggie, Jul 14) with a 27.71 win over 450m and Rio Coco (Ballymac Vic-Motore Lady, Apr 15) with a 28.99 run over 480.

There was a return to the open race winner’s circle after a three year break for the popular Tony Bullen. The former Rye House stalwart sent out Beechers Spirit (Superior Product-Swinley Bottom, Oct 15) to win the quicker of the two heats of a 500m maiden event in 30.09.

The other heat went to Patrick Janssens’ pup Affleck Bolt (Kinloch Brae-Ardrine Lunar, Jan 16). The first winner from the repeat litter to the bunch that included British Breeders Stake winner Badabing, Whatugonnado and Meadow, Bolt clocked 30.32 and will surely improve for the run.

Jims Chance (Timor Blue-Cornamaddy Queen, Apr 14) confirmed his position as Henlow’s top middle distance runner on Sunday night.

Steve Fletcher’s black, who had won his last three opens over the 460m, with a best of 27.30 (+10), extend that to four with a 27.72 (-20) one length win over Corrin Mall in 27.72.
