Domino Storm continued with her preparation for the forthcoming Lowther Stakes with an impressive open race win over course and distance on Tuesday.
Mark Wallis’ Select Stakes winner was clinical in a box-to-beam performance beating kennelmate Airforce Duchess by four and a half lengths in 29.57. The run was some way off Mossvale Ace’s record for the 500 metre trip of 29.24 though the track was rated .20 slow.
Former kennelmate Blackstone Marco (4-5f), the second fastest dog over the trip (29.33) overcame a bump to win on the same card in a slower 29.82 (-20). Heather Dimmock’s white and black, five months short of his fifth birthday and racing for the 88th time, extended his winning sequence to five with an extended record of seven wins and three seconds in his last 10 races. Famias Hope and Farran Smith finished second and third.
They will be joined in the final of the RPGTV Standard by Mad About Rioga, Macs On Storm and Ballymac Sinbad who finished 1-2-3 in the other qualifier. Winner’s time 29.79 (-20), distances: six, plus a length and three quarters.
The ‘ladies only’ Lowther Stakes takes place over three Saturdays and gets underway on August 13, with the £10,000 final on Saturday August 27
