Bresbet lost money in their first venture into ‘110% betting’ at Romford on Friday but are convinced they are onto a winner.
As reported on the day, there was plenty of money knocking around with by far the biggest plunge of the day on Patrick Janssens’ Goldies Jennings.
The Bresbet layers took a view and laid plenty of 6-4 during the day, eventually shortening to even money while most other firms opened at odds-on. Eventually returned at ‘evens’, Jennings led all the way and held on by three quarters of a length.
Bresbet’s Carl Perry said: “The night started off with a big priced winner (Goldies Perryman 12-1). Then Farneys Lark punters came out in front. We laid him at 12-1 and he returned at 8-1. But the whole night turned on Goldies Jennings. The support for him was relentless. We laid plenty of 11-8 and were still showing 5-4 at the off. We knew our fate in the first few yards.”
“Overall it was a small losing night, only due to Goldies Jennings, but with a very healthy turnover.
“We will definitely be continuing with the ‘110 percent betting’. In fact we will be doing more meetings, as well as continuing at Romford on Friday. We will also be betting to those margins in our sponsored event, the Steel City Cup, in a fortnight’s time. I can’t wait.”
