The Boylesports Race of Champions Final over 550 yards at Tralee has a top class line-up and also a wide-open look about it.
St Leger winner Paradise Silva is the favourite after recording the quickest time in the heats with 29.55sec.
The St Leger winner will certainly take some beating if he can negotiate a clear run around the opening bends.
Preference is given to Derby Plate winner Laughil Bolt. Pat Guilfoyle’s runner had to work hard in the heat to get to the front before going on to beat Midtown Raffa in 29.60sec and is expected to start much better this time.
Laurels winner Midtown Raffa held every chance when beaten by Laughil Bolt in 29.60sec but is capable of better.
Graham Holland’s Sidarian Vega has a great good draw on the fence. He landed the track’s Juvenile Classic back in March in a flying 28.08sec performance and hasn’t had much racing since.
Holland is double handed with Rural Hawaii and the Kirby Memorial runner-up was only beaten two lengths by Laughil Bolt last week but would have preferred traps six.
Budgie Bypass is the rank outsider of the field and must step up on the clock to figure.
