Greyhound Trader would like customers to be aware that our planned sale at Monmore on 13th January has been switched to Sheffield on Wednesday 19th January.
Speaking of the decision, Nathan Corden said “I received a call from Ian Smyth the other day letting me know that Entain tracks would not be holding any sales in 2022. To be honest the call came out of the blue and is a bit of a shock. Ian (Smyth) did reassure me that it was nothing personal as he confirmed they would not be holding any Greyhound Trader or any other sales company next year at the Entain tracks.
“He said he didn’t think his tracks got enough dogs from the sales that remained on their strengths. I did look at our stats and there were 131 runners at Entain tracks by greyhounds sold at Greyhound Trader sales over the last 4 weeks including Knockard Sandy who was has just won Dog Of The Month at Romford for November – those stats do not even include any greyhounds that were sold at our last sale on 28th November at Hove as they will still be grading on. It is a real shame as we already had 30 decent early entries after the news broke that their Puppy Derby would be £20,000 to the winner.”
Corden continued: “Anyway, we must move on and I would like to thank Sheffield for accommodating us at short notice. We have been wanting to use Sheffield as a venue so we are delighted to be there on Wednesday 19th January. The catalogue for Sheffield will be available on Wednesday 12th January. I would just like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers along with the greyhound racing family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
