Sheffield have confirmed that their £15,000-to-winner Steel City Puppy Derby has been given clearance by the GBGB’s Open Race Planning Committee. It will take place on three consecutive Tuesdays concluding on October 25.
It will be for 36 ‘November or younger’ pups. Although the full prize money structure is to be confirmed, all finalists will receive a minimum of £1,000.
The new event will become the second most lucrative juvenile event in the Calendar, headed only by Monmore’s £20K equivalent.
