Derby semi-finalist King Sheeran returns to Nottingham tonight for a British Breeders Stakes Trial Stakes over 500 metres.

Liz McNair’s runner broke down in the semi-finals of the event last year and was off the track until the first round of this year’s Derby, in which he got through to the semi-final stage.

The son of Eden the Kid went on to land the 73rd Two Year Old Produce Stakes at Swindon in July and won a heat of the British Bred Northern Plate at Newcastle before going out in the semi-finals.

King Sheeran is likely to go off around the 1-2 mark in the 9.06 race as he has an excellent make-up as the only wide seed.  He can soon be in control.

Last week’s Trial Stake winner Rackitup Charlie and local veteran Alfies Prince appear the main threats.

Chris Akers’ Sonic Spur, who returned to winning ways after a lay-off, can take the Stadium Bitches Trophy over 500 metres at 8.08.

The Holden Spy bitch accounted for Small But Deadly last week and can soon be in front of poorly drawn main rival Honour Goldikova.
