Shawfield racing manager Daniel Rankin is ploughing ahead with plans to have several dozen new greyhounds qualifying for racing under the new ‘owner trainer’ licence scheme in just over a month’s time.
The Star understands that bureaucratic issues with forms, the rule book and Formnet have still not been resolved but Rankin is urging the dozen and a half local handlers who have pledged to sign up, not to lose faith.
He said: “I understand that there is a lot of effort being made to make all the adaptions and although February was being talked about, it seems they are really pushing for January. The guys here are raring to go.”
