The 2022 East Anglian Derby runner-up Coolavanny Shado looks set to start as a very short price favourite to make amends when he goes to traps for Wednesday’s Click Competitions sponsored final.
The Patrick Janssens trained black produced a 5.11 split – a length quicker than any of his previous runs – on the way to a three and a half length victory in 27.40 (-20).
A repeat would surely put him beyond the reaches of any of the competition, and on quicker going, the track record would surely be within his grasp.
He has drawn blue in the decider and is in the form of his life.
The second semi went to Con Condon’s Towcester A1 regular Flickofacoin who led all the way but has 59 spots to find on his most recent effort.
