The elimination of ante-post favourite Secreto was the biggest shock in the quarter finals of the Kerry Agribusiness St Leger over 550 yards at Limerick on Saturday.
Mossie O’Connor’s runner who clocked a fastest of the competition 29.32sec last week, led to halfway and another big run looked on the cards but he faded from that point and eventually finished fourth.
Peregrine Falcon took up the running but he was run out of it by fast finishing Country Legend by half a length in 29.72sec.
Scottish Derby Finalist Save The Don was successful in the second qualifier.
Fraser Black’s runner flew out of the boxes and made every yard to beat Jaytee Valencia by four and a half lengths in 29.41sec.
Offshore Bound was successful in the third qualifier. Tipperary Cup winner Black Tom led to halfway before Tyrur Tommy took up the running.
Owen McKenna’s runner came to join him at the last turn and was just doing enough in front to score by a head in 29.53sec.
Skywalker Rory landed the last qualifier for Pat Guilfoyle. Baltovin Leo led to the third turn where he was joined and impeded by the favourite Minor Bound, who was marked awkward.
Skywalker Rory was left clear and went on to beat Barefoot Artist by two lengths in 29.69sec.
