The end of the Romford tipping contest for the month. We plan to bring it back in November. So a look at the old scoreboard, and top earner with a profit of £112.50 was the Jason ‘The Rainman’ Gander. Jason would have been here to collect his award but he is colour coordinating and cataloguing his extensive pen collection. (Did you know that Lazlo Biro sold his first biro in 1938. Jason did!). Mark Wallis managed his tipping a bit like his trainers championship attempt (and his track kenneling routine). All a bit ‘last minute’. £200 in hock until last night, both selections went in for a profit of £68.75 on the month. Nathan Hunt finished on -£180 thus giving fellow Welshman Robert Short the bragging rights. He deserves to suffer!

Nottingham have one meeting to go and Big Mark Pierrepont is in the blue (just!) – despite a loss of £17.50 on the night. The water carriers both bagged -£100 nights.

As September draws to a close I am looking for a solid performance from this evening’s selection, I think I have found it with Joanne Lowe’s Tohullandback (R3 T5). This August 17 bitch, drops back to the grade of her victory two runs ago, and is more than capable of winning in D4 after competing in D1 company at the start of the year. With tardy starters either side I think she can get loose on the front, her main danger is Lisa Stephenson’s youngster Sandwood Macy in trap 1, who was a winner in this grade last time out. £100 win

Good card tonight at Sheffield, in which I have a few fancies but my main selection is Riptheknot (R2 T3).Wendy Brown’s bitch looks set to lead the field out the traps and and should take some catching. She also looks perfect on season dates so should come on for last weeks run. Hopefully she can lead and hold on to win. £100 win.
