Following the positive POR samples taken at the Doncaster sale on 1st June Greyhound Trader are pleased to report that all secondary POR samples have returned negative.
Nathan Corden said “It is such a relief to have them all come back negative and this really does back up our belief that cross-contamination was the cause of the positives. 2 of the greyhounds actually had secondary POR samples taken just 3 days after the sale (as the trainers were unaware a POR sample had already been taken) and these came straight back as negative so the levels were obviously small. To have all those positives for the same reason across so many different vendors is unheard of and has perplexed us. Our next sale is on Thursday 15th July at Monmore and we will be ensuring extra precautions are in place so nothing like this happens again in order to give confidence to all potential bidders.”
The catalogue for the Monmore sale will be released on Thursday 8th July.
