Razldazl Rubin set the standard in the second round of the Gain Dog Food Corn Cuchulainn over 750 yards at Harolds Cross on Friday.
Dolores Ruth’s runner led from start to finish to hold the favourite and Barrys Tea winner Fire Height Amy by two lengths in 42.10sec.
Tradition ran out the winner of the opening qualifier.
Pat Dalton’s runner looked set for an easy victory when a close up third on the far side but market rival Ballymac Bonnie got inside her at the penultimate turn and looked to be going better.
However Bonnie checked up on the turn behind the leaders and allowed Tradition to hit the front again off the final turn and hold her renewed effort by a neck in 42.13sec.
Whaoo Wheoo was a shock 14-1 winner of the third qualifier when making just about all to hold the late surge of Shaneboy Sue by three quarters of a length in 42.26sec.
