British bred Romany Rouge (Head Bound-Milliesupreme, May 13) continued his stunning run of form with victory in a Wimbledon 687m open on Thursday night.
The big striding black who showed so much potential when reaching last year’s Ladbrokes Puppy Derby Final spent last autumn actively failing to live up to his billing. Between July and September, culminating in runner-up spot in the Doncaster Leger, he ran 11 times for ten second places and a third.
However his fourth and a half length victory in 41.74 (calc) was his sixth in a row (seventh in eight) and he will surely be a major player in the forthcoming Coral Regency.
