Romford have struggled to complete their regular 13-race open cards for the last couple of Fridays – filling ten and nine races respectively – but are not unduly concerned.
Racing manager Peter O’Dowd said: “It’s a traditional thing this time of year due to the clash with the Golden Jacket.
“But we remain committed to the Friday night opens and have the Golden Sprint on the horizon so there will be plenty to look forward to.”
Even though the start of the £10,000 Sprint is three weeks away, some of the big guns are due to stretch their legs this week.
Multi category one finalist and Henlow Derby winner Southern Mesut heads the list of Charlie Lister’s trialists on Tuesday.
Then on Wednesday, there will be huge interest in Jimmy Wright’s 10-race-unbeaten Walshes Hill who will be trialling alongside kennelmate Droopys Alessio.
