Romford boss David McDonald is not expecting to lose any more trial sessions with the racing circuit also undergoing some maintenance work.

He said: “We lost a session about a month ago due to the weather. This week we lost one due to the need to replace a bit of kit costing around two pounds, but it wasn’t detected until too late. But we are about to carry out some works on a new hare rail which is worn out and the drainage underneath it.

“It can be done in stages so racing won’t be affected. We are also installing a new photo finish camera which will be a big improvement on what we have already with higher resolution pictures.”
