Fivestar Clipper moved back into clear second place as Romford’s all-time leading open race winner with his 29th victory at the track on Friday.
It was far from vintage from Derek Knight’s four old who held on to win by a short head in 35.67 following four consecutive defeats and a back problem. His 7-2 SP was his biggest at the track since January 2015.
Evanta Fantasy (5-4) had the chance to land her 29th victory at the track but finished last in the previous race. Mark Wallis’ bitch ran from trap one from which her record over course and distance is nothing special – by her standards – four wins from 15 starts, almost 1:4.
Even numbers are seemingly good. Go compare. . T1-4/15, T2 14/21, T3 5/15, T4 4/6.
** Rob Abrey was on form with two of his three highlighted runners in his Friday column with Droopys Mask (3-1jf) successful alongside Fivestar Clipper. (The third runner Time Test will be crossing the line anytime soon -Ed)
