Romford may not be on Racing Post TV tonight. Romford may not be shown in Coral shops tonight. Romford however still host their weekly open race feast and as ever yours truly has found out more about some of them whether they can be viewed outside of the track or not.
Yarmouth trainer Paul Burr has decided to tackle the Friday night traffic and bring two of his charges to Essex. His first runner, Riverside Tadgh at 7.29pm in a maiden stayers race over 575 metres race is looking to win at Romford at the first time of asking. The son of Kinloch Brae and Tyrur Monica has been running in A1 graded company recently at home track Yarmouth over 462 metres winning two from his last four. The October ‘13 whelp looks like he can handle the 575 metres trip at Romford and could be a player tonight.
Trainer Paul Burr on Riverside Tadgh said: “He has done the quickest time over 462 metres at Yarmouth this year so far.
“I think he will stay the trip. He gets the four bend trip really well at Yarmouth and Romford is one of the easiest six bend trips out there.
“He can break and has pretty good splits. He has not had a trial but that shouldn’t be a major problem as he has run Nottingham and Henlow well.
“If he does lead I’ll be disappointed if he gets beat. I’m looking forward to the race.”
Roxys Prince is next up for trainer Paul Burr in a maiden race over 400 metres at 7.46pm and will be looking to make it two from two for the Burr Kennels. The Son of Hi Rumble and Montis Roxy is clearly comfortable at home track Yarmouth winning nine from twenty four races. Six of those wins have been in top grade company. The September ’14 whelp has had two sprint races at Henlow over 277 metres coming third and fourth on those occasions. With his early pace and ability to stay 462 metres, Roxys prince has every chance tonight.
Paul Burr on him said: “He is a very good dog. If he gets everything right from the traps he will be hard to beat. I expect a big run from him.
“He can run this dog and recently beat Whatugonnado at Yarmouth who is the track record holder at Harlow.
“He is a nice compact dog and should suit Romford well.”
Paul Sallis of Monmore has also decided to tackle the Friday night traffic and bring three greyhounds to Romford tonight. His first runner, Sameagain Totti is in the same race as Riverside Tadgh at 7.29pm. The daughter of Head Bound and Southeast Suzie has won two of her last three races at home track Monmore over 480 metres. The July ’15 whelp has won over 500 metres at Nottingham in an inter track race and will be looking to win over 575 metres at the first time of asking.
Trainer Paul Sallis on Sameagain Totti said: “She is a nice little pup and is back from illness. We had a bout of sickness but she is now fully fit.
“She has been running well and does trap well.
“Of our three runners tonight this pup is our best chance and the one we are looking forward to.”
Roseville Billy runs over 400 metres at 9.26pm in the first heat of the Friday night 550 standard. The June ’14 whelp has been running over 480 metres at Monmore in A1 company but has failed to win in his last five races. The son of Kinloch Brae and Roseville Chloe has had several races at Romford in the past but has yet to record a win.
Trainer Paul Sallis on Roseville Billy said: “He likes a switch. If you look at his form he has nearly always obliged at Monmore after running somewhere else. Sameagain Totti is our main chance tonight. Billy is here for a switch to freshen him up. He could win but will be worth keeping an eye out for the next time he runs at Monmore.”
