The weather may be cold outside but with the first four races at Romford only available in Coral and Ladbrokes shops it may be worth getting on the scarf and making it down to either shop. There are a few interesting runners in those races that may be worth watching and getting a red nose for.
Towcester trainer Heather Dimmock makes the journey to Essex with two runners before the Racing Post TV coverage starts. Both her dogs are making their debut around the track and look to have chances.
First up in the 6.36pm over 400 metres sees Blackstone Levi make his race debut. The novice pup looks to have plenty of early and could hit the ground running. The May ’15 whelp has been put straight into an open race and could repay the faith the owners and trainer have put into him.
On Blackstone Levi trainer Heather Dimmock said: “I’m hoping he does take to Romford. He had a little look around Harlow and did okay. He definitely has potential. Co-owner Paul Carpenter bought him on the basis he should be open race class. We are starting him with short four bend trips and will look at longer trips later on.
“He done a good sprint trial around Towcester and has plenty of early.”
Ginas Blue in the 6.55pm makes his open race debut tonight over 400 metres. The son of Droopys Scolari and Dundrum Lemon has had eleven races on these shores all at Towcester and all in graded affairs. The August ’14 whelp has been progressing nicely through the grades and recently won an A1 at the home of the BAGs track champions.
Trainer Heather Dimmock on Ginas Blue said: “He wasn’t down for a race this weekend at Towcester so I thought I would enter him at Romford along with Levi. He has some nice early and is a natural wide runner.
“He started in an A4 and has progressed through to A1 where he won one. He has good early pace and has beaten some good dogs at Towcester.
