The following is a press release from Jim Reynolds following a previous story concerning the termination of his contract by Coral Romford Stadium and our publication of their statement earlier in the week. We understand that Jim Reynolds and his advisors do not plan to make any other comment prior to their GBGB inquiry.

I have been a licenced trainer since 1983 and for the past ten years have had a happy and successful time at Romford Greyhound Stadium. I have developed over these ten years an excellent working relationship with the Romford Racing Manager and his staff as evidenced by the fact that I have eight runners at Romford tomorrow evening. I am both saddened and disappointed to have received the news that my contract was terminated by Corals with immediate effect. During my time at Romford my staff and I have worked hard to ensure that our greyhounds are healthy and have run to the best of their ability. My paramount interest is the welfare of my greyhounds and the integrity of our sport. I have held a licence in various roles since 1979 and my disciplinary record is one of the best in the industry bearing in mind my involvement over 37 years. It is absurd, baseless and libellous for Corals to state that I have “brought the integrity of the sport and track (Romford) into question”. It is clear that Corals have acted as judge and jury without any facts and without giving me the opportunity to defend their accusations before a GBGB Disciplinary Committee. I understand that there are two pending enquiries. I am satisfied that based on the evidence I have not committed any breach of any GBGB rules of racing. Since Monday I have been humbled by receiving many calls from owners and I thank them for their loyalty. I have also had many calls and emails from trainers and members of the public who are appalled at the way I have been treated. I would like to thank everybody who has supported me.
