It was a case of ‘long overdue’ as Candy Man reversed form with Laurels winner Havana Class in a thrilling M Lambe Construction Birmingham Cup Final at Perry Barr
It was back in April that the Carol Weatherall trained black landed an impressive semi final of the Laurels, only to be turned over by Havana Class in the final. The ‘bridemaid’ tag continued into the Three Steps final where he led before being fought by the disqualified Lemming Caesar.
But all came good in the Thursday night’s final where he ran from trap five with his old adversary in four. . .
