It was a poignant night for gentle giant Kevin Hutton whose popular local runner Dorotas Wildcat landed the 2018 Star Sports English Greyhound Derby at Towcester on Saturday night.
It was on returning from the Derby quarter finals on May 222nd when the Burford trainer discovered a kennel break-in in which five runners had been stolen. One of the runners, open racer Jovial Monk, has been stolen and is believed to be in the hands of the traveling community and being used for illegal hare coursing.
The ordeal had weighed massively on the kennel who needed a major tonic as Dorotas Wildcat went to trap three in the £175,000 decider. . .
