The day after winning the RPGTV Scottish Derby, The Other Reg did a ‘Grand National style’ visit to a pub at Chirk in North Wales where he is already a celebrity.
The Stanton House Inn is owned by Mark and Mick Jones and was rocking on Saturday night as the locals all cheered home the landlord’s runner. Lots of 5-2 was taken and free drinks were flowing.
On Sunday afternoon Pat Rosney and partner Julie McCombe took Reg to meet his public, and get a first glance on his retirement home of the future.
Pat said: “Mark and Mick are just sensational owners. They travel everywhere from North Wales, even for trials, just to see their dogs. Several years ago they had a dog with me, Kingsmill Eagle, who picked up a very bad injury. They spent many thousands on operations just to ensure that he could be re-homed.
“Nobody was more overdue a change of luck so it was lovely to take Reg to be part of the celebrations.”
