Locally trained Ballymac Trend (Ballymac Best-Motorbar Abigail, May 19) became the biggest priced winner in the 93 year history of the English Oaks when landing the Property 192 sponsored event on Sunday. She went to trap three as a 25-1 shot . .
Winning trainer Angie Kibble said: “She’s done brilliantly well though hasn’t she? I really didn’t expect her to fire out like that. She has done everything we have asked of her. All the way through it she has just improve with each run I’m absolutely delighted with her.”
It was a remarkable run from the only puppy in the line-up. It was the only time in her career to date, taht the 29 kilo black had broken the important 4.00 sectional and the victory was just her third in 14 races, her last win coming in A4 company.
