Kennelmate Roxholme Hat (T5 2-1) finished third with another travelling companion Queen Adele (T1 6-1) KO’d along with Racy Rhythm (T6 33-1).
Heat two went the way of Adele’s sister Queen Anna (T5 7-4jf) from Knockard Spring (T3 4-1) with the other joint favourite Chopchop Hope (T6) finishing third. The winner prevailed by a length and a half in 17.79 with the Scolari Sound (T1 3-1) narrowly failing to make his third National Sprint decider. He won the competition two years ago.
The final qualifer saw Toolmaker Rambo (T1 4-7f) turned over from an apparent winning position. The three quarter length 17.86 winner was Bar The Warrior (T2 4-1).
