With Newcastle preparing for a couple of weeks top class open racing the Thursday trial session at the track was dominated by big race hopefuls.
Kneejerkreaction, the winner of last year’s Northern Puppy Derby at the North East circuit for Stephen Atkinson, was fastest of the session with a 29.56 for the 480 metres on a track rated ten spots fast, while Calazaghe George, winner of the Conlon Family Building Company 480 there last month, will have pleased trainer Ted Soppitt with a run just one pip behind that.
Getareaction, a kennelmate of Kneejerkreaction, produced the fastest clock in the sprint trials with a 17.24 for the 290 metres.
