The Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Australia-based betting data company, Racing and Sports, to manage GBGB’s National Form Database following a successful public tender process.
From 3 May 2023, Racing and Sports will take over the support and management of the national database, which supplies the betting data on all British greyhound races. In the meantime, they will begin preparation for a smooth transmission from the incumbent provider.
Through this new strategic relationship, Racing and Sports will not only maintain the existing database but will develop, promote and innovate data and products for greyhound racing fans and drive engagement with new audiences. This builds on Racing and Sports’ successful track record in Australia, where they already provide enhanced data and graphical speed maps and race analysis cards on their domestic greyhound racing data. This is just one of several new initiatives being explored for British racing under the new partnership.
Brent Dolan, Managing Director of Racing and Sports, said:
“Racing and Sports has a huge following in the Southern Hemisphere and we are now growing our presence in the UK and Europe. We are very much looking forward to working with GBGB to enhance the UK greyhound product and see this as a fantastic opportunity.
“With high standards of welfare and integrity, GBGB’s tracks offer high-quality, exciting racing year-round and we are pleased to work with a regulator who puts greyhound welfare front and centre of all they do.
“You cannot stand still in this business and we are determined to create an exciting greyhound product that responds to the wants and needs of audiences, working alongside GBGB, racecourse promoters and wider partners within British greyhound racing.”
Mark Moisley, GBGB Commercial Director, said:
“Racing and Sports are a growing and proactive company that impressed us with their forward-thinking ideas. I know they are eager to introduce the same innovation to British licensed greyhound racing that they have done for both horseracing and greyhound racing in Australia and we look forward to working alongside them to drive our sport forward.”
