Ante-post favourite Black Tom was knocked out of the Vulturi @ Stud Kingdom Derby, which has its second round at Tralee on Friday.

The Tipperary Cup winner didn’t break well and was crowded out of it at the opening turn. 2014 Puppy Derby winner Quietly went clear and came home two lengths clear of Killahanstranger in 28.30sec, the fastest of the round.

Produce Stakes runner-up Amazing Dude was another big name casualty in the second heat when he missed his break and met plenty of trouble. The race went to Baltovin Leo who led off the third turn to register a five length victory over Jacks Asuperstar in 28.85sec.

Mossie O’Connor’s Noelles Darling led from the opening turn in heat three to hold Punjabie Kitchen by a length in 28.63sec.

Pat Buckley’s Droopys Nine rode a few early bumps in the last qualifier before pulling clear at the turn and going on to hold Skywalker Leaf by a neck in 29.23sec.
